The proposed Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023 covers several key principles pertaining to lawful usage of personal data, limitation on collection of personal data, data minimization, data storage and accountability of the person processing personal data. This proposed Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023 has been released by The Union Government of India and thus the provisions of this Act shall apply to the processing of digital personal data within the territory of India and shall also apply outside the territory of India , if such processing is in connection with any profiling of, or activity of offering goods or services to Data Principals within the territory of India.
